Graduate Checklist
As an upcoming grad, here’s what you need to know, and do, to ensure an enjoyable, glitch-free commencement day.
- Check your Eligibility for participating in commencement and Apply to Graduate
- International Students: Submit a letter of invitation request for your guests needing to apply for a visa.
- Purchase Academic Attire and check out the Grad Fair
- Make arrangements for anyone (including yourself) requiring Special Assistance during the ceremony.
- Review the Commencement Day Schedules for both Spring Commencement and Rackham Graduate Exercises
- Check U-M Safety Guidelines and Venue Information.
Guest Checklist
If you’re planning to attend commencement in Ann Arbor, start by checking out the local Visitors’ Bureau website for information on hotels and restaurants. It’s advisable to make reservations as early as possible. The following checklist will help assure that you have an enjoyable and memorable day with your graduate:
- International Guests: If you need to apply for a visa in order to attend the commencement ceremony, be sure to ask your graduate to submit a request for a letter of invitation.
