All graduates and candidates who have completed their degree during the Fall Term 2022, are expected to graduate and have applied to graduate the current Winter 2023 Term, or expected to meet requirements during Summer 2023 Term are invited to participate in the Spring Commencement on Saturday, April 29, 2023.
Anyone unsure of their eligibility should contact the Registrar’s/Academic Records Office in the school or college from which they are graduating.

Winter Commencement: Eligible Rackham graduates will receive an invitation in late November. This invitation will include a personal link to register for Winter Commencement. It is necessary for all Rackham graduates to complete this specific registration link to ensure all information is properly communicated for this special occasion. PhD students must complete their degree by Friday, November 18 to be hooded at winter commencement. For questions on eligibility please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.

Apply to Graduate
All students must apply for graduation through Wolverine Access. If you have any questions regarding your eligibility for graduation, please contact the senior auditor for your school, college, or academic department.
To navigate to the graduation application, click on the Student Business link within the Students tab on Wolverine Access. You can access the Apply for Graduation page through both the Student Center and Degree Progress/Graduation tabs.
If you are eligible to apply for graduation, the Academic Program(s) will be listed on the Apply for Graduation page. If the correct academic program, degree, major, concentration, or minor is not displayed, contact the registrar for your school, college, or academic department.
Note: Anyone applying for graduation in more than one Academic Program will need to complete separate applications for each.
To apply for graduation, click on the appropriate Academic Program and choose your expected graduation term from the drop down menu. If the expected graduation term does not appear, contact your school, college, or academic department.
Any questions regarding the application process for graduation should be directed to the University’s Office of the Registrar or the registrar for your school, college, or academic department.
Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree Graduates and Candidates
Diplomas will be ordered after degrees are posted and awarded to academic records. Diplomas are mailed to the graduate’s permanent address or to the diploma address if one has been created by the student in Wolverine Access. Address updates can be entered on Wolverine Access up until the day degrees are posted.
Doctoral Degree Recipients
Diplomas will not be distributed at the Winter Commencement ceremony. Diplomas for Rackham Doctoral students can be picked up from the Office of the Registrar any time between 8am and 5pm through Tuesday, December 20. Please bring a photo ID as verification when you pick up your diploma. Please note that this is for Rackham Doctoral students only, all other graduates’ diplomas will be mailed as is the usual practice.
Any diplomas that have not been picked up by Tuesday, December 20 will be mailed to the permanent address on file with the Office of the Registrar unless you specified a specific diploma address when applying for graduation. To check what address is on file, go to Wolverine Access, click Student Business, then Student Center. If you need your diploma mailed to a different address, please email email@example.com with the new address and your student ID by Tuesday, December 20.

2023 Rackham Graduate Exercises Eligibility
All Rackham master’s candidates who expect to complete their degree requirements during the Winter 2023 or Spring/Summer 2022 Terms are eligible to participate in the upcoming Rackham Graduate Exercises. View Rackham’s masters degree deadlines. Please note, the application date to be listed in the RGE program is March 10, 2023.
All Rackham doctoral candidates who complete their degree requirements by March 30, 2023 are eligible to participate in the upcoming Rackham Graduate Exercises. View Rackham’s doctoral degree deadlines.

- Ph.D. candidates are eligible to participate in the 2023 Rackham Graduate Exercises but degree requirements must be completed by April 1, 2022.
- Master’s candidates may participate if their degree is officially granted in the following terms: Spring/Summer 2021, Fall 2021, Winter 2022, or Spring/Summer 2022.
This information applies only to Ph.D. and Master’s students who receive their degrees through the Horace H. Rackham School of Graduate Studies (programs of study at Rackham). Others should contact the registrar of their individual school or college.
Rackham will email all eligible graduates in early April 2023 to register to participate in the upcoming Rackham Graduate Exercises ceremony.
