All graduates and candidates who are completing graduation requirements during the Winter Term 2022 or expected to to meet requirements during the Spring/Summer 2022 Term are invited to participate in the Spring Commencement on Saturday, April 30, 2022.
Anyone unsure of their eligibility should contact the Registrar’s/Academic Records Office in the school or college from which they are graduating.

Apply to Graduate
All students must apply for graduation through Wolverine Access. If you have any questions regarding your eligibility for graduation, please contact the senior auditor for your school, college, or academic department.
To navigate to the graduation application, click on the Student Business link within the Students tab on Wolverine Access. You can access the Apply for Graduation page through both the Student Center and Degree Progress/Graduation tabs.
If you are eligible to apply for graduation, the Academic Program(s) will be listed on the Apply for Graduation page. If the correct academic program, degree, major, concentration, or minor is not displayed, contact the registrar for your school, college, or academic department.
Note: Anyone applying for graduation in more than one Academic Program will need to complete separate applications for each.
To apply for graduation, click on the appropriate Academic Program and choose your expected graduation term from the drop down menu. If the expected graduation term does not appear, contact your school, college, or academic department.
Any questions regarding the application process for graduation should be directed to the University’s Office of the Registrar or the registrar for your school, college, or academic department.
Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree Graduates and Candidates
Diplomas will be ordered after degrees are posted and awarded to academic records. Diplomas are mailed to the graduate’s permanent address or to the diploma address if one has been created by the student in Wolverine Access. Address updates can be entered on Wolverine Access up until the day degrees are posted.
Doctoral Degree Recipients
Doctoral degree recipients that have confirmed their attendance for the Rackham Graduate Exercises (RGE) will receive their diplomas during the ceremony. Those not attending RGE may pick up their diploma at the Registrar’s Office at 5000 LSA Bldg, 500 S. State St. between 8:00 a.m and 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday the week prior to the commencement ceremony and the week after the ceremony. Diplomas not picked up will be mailed in May.
Additional diplomas may be ordered through the Registrar’s Office, Student Services at either of two locations: 2200 Student Activities Building (SAB), 515 E. Jefferson St. or 2202 Pierpont Commons, 2101 Bonisteel Blvd.

Rackahm Graduate Exercises Eligibility
All Rackham master’s candidates who expect to complete their degree requirements during the Winter 2022 or Spring/Summer 2022 Terms are eligible to participate in the upcoming Rackham Graduate Exercises. View Rackham’s masters degree deadlines.
All Rackham doctoral candidates who complete their degree requirements by April 1, 2022 are eligible to participate in the upcoming Rackham Graduate Exercises. View Rackham’s doctoral degree deadlines.
For further information regarding eligibility, students should visit the Rackham Eligibility Website.
- Ph.D. candidates are eligible to participate in the 2022 Rackham Graduate Exercises if their degree requirements are completed by April 1, 2022.
- Master’s candidates may participate if their degree is officially granted in the following terms: Spring/Summer 2021, Fall 2021, Winter 2022, or Spring/Summer 2022.
This information applies only to Ph.D. and Master’s students who receive their degrees through the Horace H. Rackham School of Graduate Studies (programs of study at Rackham). Others should contact the registrar of their individual school or college.
Rackham will email all eligible graduates in early April to register to participate in the upcoming Rackham Graduate Exercises ceremony.
