2026 Winter Commencement Student Speakers

During the program, brief remarks will be made by student speaker(s), chosen by the Student Speaker Selection Committee. The application to be a student speaker is now open, all submissions must be complete by November 5, 2026 by 11:59 p.m. EST for consideration. Your submission should emphasize your maize and blue experience, have a cohesive theme, and be no longer than 200 words, or two minutes when read aloud.

Important information:

  • All submissions must be submitted by Thursday, November 5 at 11:59 p.m. EST for consideration
  • Selected speakers will have assistance from a writer to hone the speech that is read at commencement (submission will not be the final version)
  • Selected speakers will be required to rehearse with a provided speech coach in advance of the ceremony
  • Selected speakers must be eligible to graduate in the upcoming ceremony
