Please contact your school/college directly for any questions regarding graduation eligibility.

Undergrads

All graduates and candidates who have completed their degree during the Fall Term 2024 or are expected to graduate and have applied to graduate the current Spring/Summer 2024 Term are invited to participate in the Winter Commencement on Sunday, December 15, 2024.

Anyone unsure of their eligibility should contact the Registrar’s/Academic Records Office in the school or college from which they are graduating.

Rackham Graduates

Winter Commencement: Eligible Rackham graduates will receive an invitation in late November. This invitation will include a personal link to register for Winter Commencement. It is necessary for all Rackham graduates to complete this specific registration link to ensure all information is properly communicated for this special occasion. PhD students must complete their degree by Friday, November 15 to be hooded at Winter Commencement. For questions on eligibility, please contact [email protected].

Apply to Graduate

All students must apply for graduation through Wolverine Access. If you have any questions regarding your eligibility for graduation, please contact the senior auditor for your school, college, or academic department.

To navigate to the graduation application, click on the Student Business link within the Students tab on Wolverine Access. You can access the Apply for Graduation page through both the Student Center and Degree Progress/Graduation tabs.

If you are eligible to apply for graduation, the Academic Program(s) will be listed on the Apply for Graduation page. If the correct academic program, degree, major, concentration, or minor is not displayed, contact the registrar for your school, college, or academic department.

Note: Anyone applying for graduation in more than one Academic Program will need to complete separate applications for each.

To apply for graduation, click on the appropriate Academic Program and choose your expected graduation term from the drop-down menu. If the expected graduation term does not appear, contact your school, college, or academic department.

Any questions regarding the application process for graduation should be directed to the University’s Office of the Registrar or the registrar for your school, college, or academic department.

Diplomas

Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral Degree Graduates and Candidates
Diplomas will be ordered after degrees are posted and awarded to academic records. Diplomas are mailed to your permanent address or to the diploma address if one was created when applying for graduation. To check what address is on file, go to Wolverine Access, click Student Business, then Student Center.

2025 Rackham Graduate Exercises Eligibility

All Rackham master’s candidates who expect to complete their degree requirements during the Summer 2024, Fall 2024, Winter 2025, or Summer 2025 Terms are eligible to participate in the upcoming Rackham Graduate Exercises. View Rackham’s masters degree deadlines. Please note, the application date to be listed in the RGE program is March 13, 2025. 

All Rackham doctoral candidates who complete their degree requirements by Friday, April 4, 2025 are eligible to participate in the upcoming Rackham Graduate Exercises. View Rackham’s doctoral degree deadlines.

• Ph.D. candidates are eligible to participate in the 2025 Rackham Graduate Exercises but degree requirements must be completed by Friday, April 4, 2025.
• Master’s candidates may participate if their degree is officially granted in the following terms: Summer 2024, Fall 2024, Winter 2025, or Summer 2025.

This information applies only to Ph.D. and Master’s students who receive their degrees through the Horace H. Rackham School of Graduate Studies (programs of study at Rackham).  Others should contact the registrar of their individual school or college.

Rackham will email all eligible graduates in early April 2025 to register to participate in the upcoming Rackham Graduate Exercises ceremony.
