The University of Michigan strives to ensure that all graduates and guests can participate fully in this program.

On commencement day, staff will be available throughout Michigan Stadium to assist anyone with disabilities. Accessible restrooms are located near all entrances.

Real-Time Captioning and Sign Language Interpretation

Real-time closed captioning will be provided onsite for all guests to view.

Accessible or Wheelchair Seating for Graduates & Guests

U-M staff will also provide information on parking and participation in the graduate procession for graduates requesting wheelchair seating.

Limited Mobility

Guests with mobility concerns are eligible to sit in limited mobility seating rows that require minimal stair climbing. Wheelchair Rental

Wheelchairs for use on commencement day may be rented at the following locations:

Advanced Medical Solutions is open M-F only. Rentals arranged in advance will need to be picked up on Friday (at the latest) and returned on Monday following the ceremony. Weekend returns are not an option.

Healthcare DME is not open on Sunday. Rentals arranged in advance will need to be picked up on Friday (at the latest) and returned immediately following the ceremony, until 2:00 p.m., or on Monday.

Wheelchairs are not available for rental at Michigan Stadium on commencement day. We recommend calling as early as possible to reserve a wheelchair.

Staff will be onsite on commencement day to assist guests with mobility needs to their seats using wheelchairs. Guests may not keep wheelchairs with them during the ceremony. They are only used to transport guests to their seats. Due to congestion on the concourse following the ceremony, guests cannot anticipate assistance from their seats back to the gates.
