General Information
- Tickets will be available to redeem the first week of December. Students will be notified via email when tickets go live.
- All students participating in Winter Commencement are required to present a graduate ticket to be admitted to the ceremony and participate in the graduate procession.
- Graduate seating for Bachelor’s and Master’s graduates is general admission. PhD candidates will be seated in alphabetical order. Commencement marshals will direct graduates to the seats.
- All other guests—including family members and children two years of age and older–must have a guest ticket in order to enter the Crisler Center.
- Bachelor’s degree recipients are eligible to receive up to 6 guest tickets
- Graduate/professional (master’s and doctoral) degree recipients are eligible to receive up to 6 guest tickets.
- Guest tickets are all general admission, including wheelchair access and limited mobility seating.
- All tickets are electronic. Graduates must transfer guest tickets to their guests by Friday, December 18th to ensure smooth entry into the Crisler Center.

Please note: Students graduating in Fall 2026 are eligible to participate in either the Winter Commencement Ceremony (December 2026) or the Spring Commencement Ceremony (May 2027).
Eligible students will automatically receive email communications regarding the Winter Commencement. If you intend to participate in the Spring Commencement, you may disregard those messages. Information about the Spring Commencement will automatically be sent to your UMICH email address next semester.
