Required Tickets/General Information

All students participating in Spring Commencement are required to present a graduate ticket before being admitted to the ceremony. In addition, all family members and other guests—including children over the age of two–must have a guest ticket in order to enter Michigan Stadium.

Tickets are available free of charge. Guest seating is assigned, and all tickets are clearly marked with a section, row, and seat number.

Tickets will be available to eligible students beginning Monday, April 27, 10:00 a.m. through Wednesday, April 29, 5:00 p.m. at the Alumni Center, 200 Fletcher Street.

Tickets are distributed throughout the three-day period at the Alumni Center. Seating assignments are random, and preferred seats are not guaranteed on the earlier dates.

  • All students participating in the graduate procession are required to have a graduate ticket
  • Bachelor’s degree recipients are eligible to receive a maximum of 8 guest tickets
  • Graduate/professional (master’s and doctoral) degree recipients are eligible to receive up to 4 guest tickets

Please note: even if students do not intend to use their 4 or 8 allocated guest tickets, they must have a graduate ticket in order to participate in Spring Commencement.

If you have guests with limited mobility, be sure to find out what seating is available for them.
