Required Tickets/General Information
All students participating in Spring Commencement are required to present a graduate ticket before being admitted to the ceremony.
In addition, all family members and other guests—including children over the age of 2–must have a guest ticket in order to enter Michigan Stadium.
Tickets are available free of charge. Guest seating is assigned, and all tickets are clearly marked with a section, row, and seat number.
Eligible students can pick up all their tickets during graduate ticket distribution.
- All students participating in the graduate procession are required to have a graduate ticket
- Bachelor’s degree recipients are eligible to receive a maximum of 8 guest tickets
- Graduate/professional (master’s and doctoral) degree recipients are eligible to receive up to 4 guest tickets
Graduating students must present their student identification (MCard) in order to receive their graduate ticket and guest tickets during ticket distribution.
Graduates who are unable to attend ticket distribution due to an internship or off-campus work commitment should fill out the Will Call Ticket Request form to make alternative arrangements.
On commencement day, the Will Call tent will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
The tent is located outside of the Stadium Boulevard entrance to Crisler Center, near Gate 2 of Michigan Stadium.
Students can pick up both graduate tickets and guest tickets at the Alumni Center – Founders Room (200 Fletcher Street, at the corner of Fletcher and Washington) on the following days:
- Monday, April 28: 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
- Tuesday, April 29: 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
- Wednesday, April 30: 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Tickets are distributed throughout the three-day period. Seating assignments are entirely random, and early arrival will not guarantee preferred seats.
Please note: even if students do not intend to pick up their 4 or 8 allocated guest tickets, they must have a graduate ticket in order to participate in Spring Commencement.
Following Graduate Ticket Distribution, remaining tickets will be made available to the general public on a first-come, first-served basis with a limit of two tickets per person.
General public ticket distribution will be held at the Alumni Center on: Thursday, May 1, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Graduating students may return to the Alumni Center at this time to request extra tickets.
If you have guests with limited mobility, be sure to find out what seating is available for them.
