Spring Commencement Ticket Redemption Process

Follow the below instructions to redeem your student and guest tickets using the Michigan Union Ticketing Office (MUTO) website for the April 30, 2022 Spring Commencement Ceremony.

 

Step 1: Activate your account/Reset your password

  • Visit the MUTO Commencement Ticket Website.
  • Activate your account/reset your password.
    • Enter your UMICH email address to reset the password.
    • Login to your UMICH email account and follow the link to reset your password.

 

Step 2: Log in to your account

  • Once your password is reset, log in to the MUTO Commencement Ticket Website and click “Click here to reserve Commencement tickets”
  • If you have reset your password ahead of time and have already logged in to the MUTO site, use this direct link to redeem your tickets.

Step 3: Select Ticket Quantity

  • Scroll down and click the “Commencement” button to show the ticket selector (if two buttons are visible, it does not matter which one you click.)
  • Select the desired quantity of guest tickets. A candidate (student) ticket will be emailed to you separately. Tickets are required for all guests age two and older.
    • Undergraduate Students: Up to 12 Guest Tickets
    • Graduate Students: Up to 8 Guest Tickets
    • Limited Mobility: Up to 8 Guest Tickets
    • Wheelchair & Companion: Up to 4 Guest Tickets
    • ASL & Companion: Up to 4 Guest Tickets
  • Each group of guest tickets will be randomly assigned together with their section, row, and seat numbers.
  • Click “Purchase” to proceed.

Step 4: Shopping Cart

  • All guest tickets are free of charge
  • Click “Check Out”

Step 5: Order Completion

  • Review your order and select your delivery preference. (Will call and standard mail fees apply.)
  • Click “Buy Now” to complete your order. When the order is complete you will see the image of the graduate/student ticket and your order summary.

Step 6: Receiving Tickets

  • Your Graduate/Student ticket and confirmation will arrive to your UMICH email immediately after purchase. Please present the Graduate/Student ticket to participate in grad gathering and be seated on the field.
  • If you selected “Digital Ticket” your guest tickets will be emailed 5-10 minutes after your purchase in one PDF document.
  • Guest tickets can be printed or the barcode can be shown on a digital device.
  • IMPORTANT:
    • Your confirmation page is not your ticket. Your GUEST digital tickets are located in an email entitled “Your MUTO Tickets!”
    • All graduates must have a GRADUATE ticket to sit with their fellow graduating students. Find the email with the subject line “Thank You for Your Order with Michigan Union Ticket Office” and present this separately.
