Graduate Seating

Graduates will be directed by staff to seating on the field.

Guest Seating

All family members and guests attending Spring Commencement, including children over the age of two, must have a ticket to enter Michigan Stadium. All tickets are marked with a section, row, and seat number.

Michigan Stadium opens at 8:00 a.m. Families and guests may enter through Gates 4, 8, 9, and 10.

Guests who plan to watch the graduate procession should be seated by 8:45 a.m. Concession stands in the stadium will be open for those who wish to purchase beverages and light refreshments.

The ceremony is expected to last from 10:00 a.m until approximately 11:45 a.m.

Guests and Graduates with Limited Mobility

Wheelchair Accessible Seating for Graduates

Graduates who use a wheelchair or have other mobility concerns are asked to call (734) 647-6037 by Wednesday, April 19 to make seating arrangements. U-M staff will also provide information on parking and participation in the graduate procession.

Wheelchair Accessible Seating for Guests

Wheelchair accessible seating is available. Please call (734) 763-8587 no later than Wednesday, April 19 to place your guest on the wheelchair accessible seating list. You must have your MCard or student UMID number to pick up these tickets at the Michigan Union Ticket Office. MUTO is able to email these tickets after the request is submitted. Wheelchair accessible tickets are not available through online ticket distribution.

Up to three companion tickets, with adjacent seating, will be provided for every guest with a wheelchair accessible seating ticket.  Other members of the party will be seated nearby.

If your guest(s) will not be using a wheelchair but have limited mobility, please see below (Limited Mobility Seating).

Limited Mobility Seating

Guests with mobility concerns are eligible to sit in limited mobility seating rows that require minimal stair climbing. Tickets are distributed on a first come, first served basis.

Limited mobility seating tickets must be requested and picked up at the Michigan Union Ticket Office during ticket distribution.  It is not necessary to call in advance to reserve these tickets. You may also call MUTO at (734) 763-8587 and request for your tickets to be emailed. Limited mobility tickets are not available through online ticket distribution.

All guests in your party will be assigned to sit in the limited mobility section if one or more of your guests requires minimal stair climbing. Please call (734) 763-8587 for additional information.
